God of Hope

I wrote these song lyrics back in February when I felt so close to God I could almost touch Him. Feelings change but “your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens” (Psalm 119:89). I pray these truths about the God of Hope may bless you – and this is my prayer for you, and for me:

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 15:13).

We know that our Redeemer lives,
Our hearts yearn within us,
We long to see Him face to face!
We hope in His unfailing love,
We’re trusting in His holy Name,
Our souls find rest in Him alone.

We used to be without hope,
But now His blood has saved us!

So let us fix our eyes on Jesus,
the Author, Perfecter of our faith,
exalted in the heavens!
Not growing weary,
we’re running towards Him,
the goal of our faith –
the God of Hope!

We died with Christ, we’ll live with Him,
We have been set free from sin,
Our consciences have been cleansed;
So let’s forget what is behind
And strain towards what is ahead,
We press towards our heavenly goal.

Endurance inspired by hope –
The hope of the glory of God!

We’re waiting for our blessed hope,
For Jesus Christ to come again,
To bring salvation to His bride;
The trumpets will resound and then
We’ll finally see Him face to face,
Falling down upon our knees

Singing before the King,
Worshipping before the Lamb!

    Much love to you today!

  2. I love it Diana! I didn't know you were so gifted! We all need hope, and this is a great way to remind ourselves of His love, care and provision. Thank you for sharing this dear friend! Blessings to you!!!!

  3. Thank you for sharing this again, it blew me away the first time I read it. It's just wonderful Diana, thank you for blessing us with it again.

  4. Thanks Diane (? I think that's you!) and Barbara!

Teresa - you are definitely losing your memory, or imagining things that haven't happened - I haven't posted this before :D

  5. Sorry Diana, I thought you had posted this before. This is what happens when you work 14 hour days I guess. I apologize, it was really wonderful though.

  6. Wow, what a song for the hymnal! If ever there was a song jam-packed with Biblical theology, this is it.Every line is Scripture!

And I can only imagine how nice it sounds when sung:)

  7. Teresa - you're also the mummy to 2 very cute little birds too at the moment, which may explain it too :)

E - hearing it sung will definitely have to stay in your imagination for now, until I can find someone to sing it for me - let's just say some things are best left for private ears alone :)

  8. I love these lyrics. Wow. You are very gifted and inspired to come up with them!
